Getting to UBC from the Airport
1. A taxi costs approximately $30 and takes about 15 minutes. It is a great deal if there are three or four of you. When you reach UBC via South West Marine Drive, ask the driver to turn right on University Boulevard and then left on Lower Mall. The Vanier Residence (Pacific Spirit Hostel) is on your left.
2. Canada Line and 99 B-Line UBC

You can also take the subway (Canada Line) and then an express bus (99 B-Line) to get from the airport to UBC. To use the Canada Line to travel from the Airport (YVR) to Vancouver, you need to pay the Canada Line YVR AddFare ($5.00) in addition to the 2-zone fare ($3.75 before 6:30 pm on week days, $2.50 at all other times).
Canada Line customers buy their tickets from a Ticket Vending Machine at the Airport station using cash, debit card or credit card. Keep your ticket for your bus transfer*.

It will take another 20 minutes before the final stop, the UBC North Bus Loop. Your Vanier Residence (Pacific Spirit Hostel) is only a 15-minute (1 km) walk in a westward direction.
You can also take the C20 campus shuttle that will take you closer to the residence but it will likely take longer than walking.
